David began working in the television industry in 1998 on a variety of reality-based programs for networks including FOX, CBS, Discovery, TLC, Lifetime, WB, and HGTV. In 2002 he transitioned into film, becoming a development assistant at The Robert Evans Company, under Paramount Pictures. Projects included the feature film “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”, starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, and development on a remake of Paramount's 1980 hit “Urban Cowboy”, tentatively titled “Bullrider”, in collaboration with McConaughey's production company.
From 2004 to 2017, he worked with Harper's BAZAAR, styling and coordinating for features on notable subjects such as Elizabeth Taylor, Donatella Versace, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Senator John McCain and wife Cindy, Wolfgang and Gelila Puck among others. In 2013, he became a Regional Editor for DuJour, the national print-digital hybrid magazine founded by Jason Binn, in collaboration with Gilt Groupe and Hudson News, contributing two pages per issue, features and regular online content. He is also a regular freelance contributor for Architectural Digest, ELLE Decor, House Beautiful and Town & Country, and his work has appeared in C Magazine, Marie Claire, Veranda, TATLER, The Telegraph, and Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book. For these and other publications he has interviewed personalities including artist David Hockney, actor Jonathan Groff, actresses Sophia Loren and Glenn Close, basketball star Kobe Bryant, fashion designers Ralph Rucci, Marc Bouwer and Christian Louboutin, and California Governor Gavin Newsom.
In 2010 he was the Project and Exhibition Director for Extending the Runway: Tatiana Sorokko Style, which debuted at the Russian Fashion Museum, in Moscow, and later opened in the US at Phoenix Art Museum. The exhibition, and accompanying book, highlighted the independent style and couture collection of the fashion editor and 90s supermodel.
Additionally, he spent over a decade as VP Publicity, Acquisitions & Special Projects for the Serge Sorokko Gallery, in San Francisco, overseeing media relations and organizing domestic and international exhibitions for a roster of museum-placed artists including Donald Sultan, Hunt Slonem, Damien Hirst and Ross Bleckner.
Since 2017, he’s worked in the tech space as a Senior Brand Writer for start-ups in the health, hospitality, and design sectors.
